Itajai, Brazil Cruise Port

Itajai is a large, metropolitan city in Santa Catarina (SC), Brazil. Despite the impressive skyline and nearly 120 square miles of land, the population is a modest 200,000 people. Peak seasons see that number balloon when visitors come in abundance to take advantage of the town’s beautiful beaches and other enticing attractions. The city sits right on the Atlantic Ocean coast at the mouth of the beautiful Rio Itajai, or the Itajai-Acu River. Near the bustling port, there is a long shopping district that sells clothing and accessories along with beauty products and electronics. There are also a number of bars and restaurants along this strip. Outside of the city there is a substantial rural area that includes forests, plains and plenty of paths to hike around and explore. Fishing and the seafood trade are also big businesses in the region, and travelers come for the fresh delicacies found year round, particularly during the annual summer festival.

• Parrot’s Beak is an almost twenty foot tall rock in the shape of a parrot. Travelers love to visit this steadfast attraction to take pictures and video.
   
• Beto Carrero World is a family-themed attraction that contains an amusement park, live shows and a number of water slides.
   
• Paroquia Santissimo Sacremento is a large, fantastic church with Roman and Neogothic elements in the architecture, as well as a modern influence. There is also a large clock mounted on the front of the building.
   
• Cabecudas is Itajai’s cleanest and loveliest beach. It’s a grand destination for walking, jogging, sitting in the sun or exploring the waters through swimming or snorkeling.
