Dubrovnik, Croatia Cruise Port

It’s only been in the last decade or so that tourists have been flocking to Croatia to enjoy the history and beautiful landscapes of Italy’s neighbor. In fact, back in the Middle Ages, Dubrovnik was nearly as important as Venice. The famous playwright George Bernard Shaw was quoted as saying that Dubrovnik was a paradise on Earth.  Perhaps the most significant site of this city is the old walled town that offers locals and visitors a respite from the modern day and a look back at the past. Listed below are a handful of our favorite experiences for the cruise port of Dubrovnik, Croatia:

  • In the Old Town, visit Europe’s oldest operating pharmacy. This drug store was opened in 1391, and you can still purchase pills and other remedies here.

  • Learn more about Dubrovnik and Croatia at the Ethnographic Museum which displays folk customs from the locals and explains the culture of the area.

  • Head to the beach. Lapad is a nearby region with several beaches, restaurants and shops. It’s a great area to enjoy your time and unwind.

  • Walk along the city walls that surround Old Town. This gives you a great view of the city and you’ll learn about medieval towns.
