Visby, Sweden Cruise Port

When cruising to Visby, Sweden expect to feel as if you’ve stepped back into Medieval times walking through cobblestone streets, watching festivals and sampling some traditional foods. Visby was once a Hanseatic town and is now a great spot for people to come and visit to learn more about the area. In 1995, the entire town was selected as one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Surrounding part of the town is an ancient wall, built during the 13th century, is now covered with plants and roses today. Sandy beaches also surround the area offering a great view and a good place to relax or take a walk. Plenty of medieval architecture can be found in this lovely island town. Below, we have listed a few of our favorite things to do when cruising to Visby, Sweden:

  • Walk along the ancient wall that was built hundreds of years ago to protect the town and see why this the biggest attraction to the area.

  • Visit the botanical garden where you can see the precious Ginkgo tree that is surrounded by beautiful roses.

  • Sample some exciting local cuisine in one of the many quaint pubs and restaurants.

  • Relax along one of the beaches located not too far out of the small city for some quiet time.
