Tasiilaq, Greenland Cruise Port

Tasiilaq is a peaceful town in southeastern Greenland’s Sermersooq municipality. Despite having just over 2,000 citizens, it remains the most populous city on the east coast and the seventh largest town in all of Greenland. It is also one of the fastest growing towns in the area and welcomes a number of transports from other towns and settlements. The port itself is quite small but transport boats are also looking to bring tourists to the mainland. Tasiilaq is a beautiful, quaint town overlooking a fantastic range of mountains beyond the sea. The terrain is great for hiking or even mountain climbing for the more advanced adventurers. The small wooden houses in town are picturesque, displaying a rainbow of pastels and deeper colors. Sermilik Station is positioned nearby and is home to a science expedition focused on researching the Mittivakkat Glacier. While nobody but the researchers are permitted on the station, it remains a fascinating site to view from shore.
