As a monument to his contributions, the Captain James Cook Historic Site overlooks the city from Crow Hill, an 857 foot high mountain peak. Inside the Humbermouth Station, the Railway Society of Newfoundland offers train enthusiasts a chance to explore many historic items, including a steam locomotive, diesel electric locomotive, and narrow-gauge rolling stock that provided transport across the province from 1921 to 1939.
