The staff were absolutely spectacular! Every one of them. They went out of their way to make you feel so welcome. The ship was beautiful, rooms were wonderful. Dining experiences were extraordinary!

AMA lived up to its reputation, which I heard even from a friend who did this exact cruise over 10 years ago. Our cruise mgr Florintin, hotel mgr Ana Marie, chef, bartenders, housekeeping--ALL EXCELLENT, HARDWORKING, PLEASANT, PROFESSIONAL. Unique excursions (wine tastings, Strauss concert, Salzburg, Keukenhof tulip gardens) and on board entertainment were pluses, including the talk on the Main-Danube Canal. The Chef's table dinners were beautiful, and presentation of ALL courses the whole 2 weeks was exquisite. The Chef from Indonesia--Ali--is great. I always felt safe, cared for and appreciated. As a single, it cost me more--about $1000 a day--but the value is still there I think with food, room, transportation, excursions all top notch.
Pros: beautiful spaces, clean, professionals all, wonderful chef and food/drinks (plus so many options and smaller portion sizes--everyone loved that), top notch excursion and entertainment
Cons: cost for a single is pretty high; could not use sundeck as much due to locks, pretty hectic pace--our choice though!

We had an excellent time. The AmaViola is a very clean ship. Comfortable dining and lounge areas. Nice sundeck with plenty of chairs. Staterooms were very comfortable. Good beds. We would like to have more information on the timing of daily cruising and optional excursions before the cruise. This would have allowed us to manage free time better. Would like more free time. We felt that the tour guides on the optional excursions went into too much detail on history.
Pros: Very clean and comfortable ship. Very friendly staff. Excellent dining and lounge areas. Excellent food at all meals. Complete menu. Comfortable bed.
Cons: Too much history on the optional excursions.

This was our first river cruise and I was pleasantly surprised. I appreciated the different levels they offered for the excursions. We found the fast paced one worked best for us. Everything was top of the line.
Pros: Excellent service, great food. We loved the staff.
Cons: The piano player they had every day was irritating to listen to. He played too many notes so the melody was almost impossible to pick out.

My husband and I can only say good things about AmaViola. The experience was exceptional on all levels. I would not hesitate to plan another trip with AmaWaterways and, in fact, am already planning another trip.
Pros: Ship was clean and well Maintained. Incredible guides for each city we visited, great onboard services, Amazing entertainment on board, all the staff were super friendly, remembered my name and preferences, and were quick to respond to any qestions.
Cons: The only con, and this is very minor, is the coffee in the restaurant. Not so good. However, I just used the coffee machine by the lounge which was excellent!
