Mazatlan, Mexico Cruise Port

Often referred to as the Pearl of the Pacific, Mazatlan offers a lovely escape from the pressures of the real world as you sprawl on its beaches or dine in its restaurants. The town has had an interesting history and is different from many other Mexican towns because of its large German immigrant population. This charming city has both a highly touristy area called the Zona Dorado, and an area where history and culture come alive, known as Centro Historico. Featured here are a few of our favorite experiences for the cruise port of Mazatlan, Mexico:

  • Enjoy the Mazatlan Aquarium with exotic bird shows, a sea lion and more than 250 species of sea-dwelling creatures.

  • Take a beach day at Olas Atlas Beach. This is a popular beach with the locals that is only four blocks from the center of the historic district.

  • Take a walking tour through the Centro Historico or old town Mazatlan to see amazing historical sites, like the Teatro Angela Peralta and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception that was built in 1899.

  • Get a workout when you climb to the top of the local lighthouse which is 515 feet above sea level and thought to be the highest natural lighthouse in the world still in operation.
