I'm an elite passenger with Princess and have been on all the ships. The Diamond Princess stands out to me because it offers the same as the larger ships, but has a more intimate feel. I never had long lines when exiting the ship or going on a tour, or even at the Guest Services desk. Since it covers Japan and other Asian countries, I enjoyed the sharing of cultures onboard, with options for Japanese speakers as well as a variety of activity options geared toward experiencing the Japanese culture.
Pros: Smaller size with all the amenities, very attentive staff, plenty of variety with activities and entertainment.
Cons: The app had some glitches with making dining reservations, but that wasn't specific to the ship.

Very relaxing 20day cruise out of San Diego, would do it again easily

This was truly an awesome trip. All locations were beautiful and shore excursions definitely made the trip. We loved Singapore and Hong Kong - so modern and clean and truly outstanding shore excursions. Had a great private excursion in Nha Trang Vietnam- definitely recommend it over the Princess tours. In comparing notes with others we saw so much more on the private tour and had an outstanding tour guide. Thanks to my travel agent for finding this tour for us. Taiwan was nice too but unfortunately it rained that day so it was somewhat limited us. Our two shore excursions in Japan- one inOsaka and Koyoto, and Shimizu (to see Mt Fuji) were exceptional. .. and all the off shore excursions were so great. In summary our whole trip was outstanding and we want to thank our agent for arranging the trip for us.

This is our 2nd time on Princess. Our last trip we did not enjoy much about the ship. The crew had not been friendly the food was not great. This time we were very happy with the crew's friendliness and the food was much better.
Pros: Loved having Japaneese food. Along with the American food
Cons: Could have had more Japaneese decor around, Salmon was overcooked, but when asked they did better.

Pros: The Diamond Princess is a beautiful ship. Our room steward was great always on top of anything we needed. Thank You Calvin!!!!!!
Cons: The staff getting us to our excursion were disorganized. Many other passangers complain about the same things. There wasn't enough buses picking us up from the stops back to ship, because we had waited so long they didn't even charge us. The Tenders they used only had 3 at one time and they took forever to get us back to ship. This was the first ship that this has happened to us.
