Broome, Australia Cruise Port

Located on the Northwest coast of Australia, Broome is a popular port for tourists, mainly due to Cable Beach. Cable Beach is a 14-mile stretch of white sand that got its name because there is a cable that stretches from this beach to Java in Singapore. Broome is also famous for the pearls that are cultivated in the waters off the coast. At one point, 80% of the world’s pearls came from Broome.  Another of Broome’s claim-to-fames is its dinosaur footprints. Featured below are example experiences to help you make the most of your time in Broome, Australia:

  • Take a camel ride on Cable Beach. There are several operators who offer this service in Broome, especially at sunset.

  • Visit Willie Creek Pearl Farm, which is the only pearl farming operation that offers in-depth tours.

  • A trip to Broome isn’t complete without a few hours spent lounging on the popular Cable Beach. Just make sure to bring sunscreen.

  • Head to Gantheaume Point for a view of the dinosaur footprints that have remained preserved in the ground. The water needs to be at low tide for the best view.
