The beauty of Europe’s rivers is undeniable. As you sail along the Rhine, Seine, or Danube on the Viking Idi, you’ll encounter idyllic countrysides with rolling hills and bustling cities with magnificent churches and stunning castles.
Viking has taken great strides to design Viking Idi and their other Longships to provide you with spectacular views from nearly every spot on the ship. But they have also designed their ships to respect the rivers. These new ships have ecologically friendly hybrid engines, and there are solar panels on the sun deck, along with an organic herb garden.
So, as you sail, you can feel confident knowing you are leaving these beautiful landscapes for the next generation.

This was our first river cruise, and it was very enjoyable. The special things the staff did to make my wife's birthday special were great. We will cruise with Viking again!
Pros: A superior Program director and staff
Cons: Needed more time in Prague and Paris

The ship transfer because of the low level of water on the Rhine River was conducted seamlessly, without any problem at all. The staff was fantastic, very efficient and caring. The places we visited were beautiful and the trips were very well scheduled. The Cruise Director, Viktoria, was amazing. I don't think she took a minute of rest during our trip. On the return day, there was an issue with the bus driver that was to take us to the airport. We were outside the ship at 4:00 a.m. and the driver did not show up. The ship employee called and found out he was in a car accident. She immediately called around 10-15 taxis to take us all to the airport. Although it was somewhat stressful to think we would miss our flight, we did not, and we understand these things happen sometimes. My husband and I were very satisfied with all aspects of our trip and look forward to more trips on Viking.

This was our first Viking river cruise. The crew was extraordinary. The food had a few misses, but was very good. The itinerary was less relaxing than I had thought -- I prefer to walk off the ship into town and this was not possible at 3-4 stops. The included tours were high caliber.
Pros: Paris and Prague bookends
Cons: Too many bus rides -- even in ports that were not near the river.

Because of cool, cloudy weather, and bridge/lock issues, we only could enjoy top deck one day out of 8 on the rivers.
Pros: Excellent overall....Program director was exceptional
