Being a seven-time Viking customer, I love that we were upgraded to a room on the top floor. A nice surprise. Our tour director, Randa, was a great source of information and knowledge. Viking hires Egyptologists as tour directors, and it shows with the details shared at each museum, temple and tomb we explored. She was with us at the Cairo hotel check-in when we arrived, and at the Cairo hotel check-in at the departure, plus at every step of the journey in between. We felt perfectly safe in both Egypt and Jordan, even with the conflict in that area of the world. If anyone is hesitating because of this, all I can say is DON'T HESITATE. Viking takes security very seriously, we had a security person with us at all times. This itinerary is truly a trip of a lifetime, and I rarely say that because I have many more places to see in my lifetime and I never know where that may take me.
Pros: Loved the small size of the ship, with a bonus of all suites; great staff; great itinerary; busy, busy, busy!
Cons: Very busy itinerary, not for anyone who likes a leisurely pace. Three flight connections are very exhausting. Would have preferred only two.

We loved this vacation. Extremely well educated guides and we learned so much. Each tour was better than the next. The cruise staff were fantastic as well and food was excellent. We highly recommend Viking to all our friends interested in river cruising.
Pros: Everything from fantastic tour guides to amazing sights.
Cons: Sadly it was very dirty cities but nothing we can do about that.

Overall, a very pleasant experience. The WIFI is weak and limited to one device at a time per stateroom. Viking should boost the WIFI capabilities on the ship. We prefer all inclusive pricing, which Viking does not offer. Having to pay extra for gratuities and alcohol does not enhance the travel experience.
