The Viking Freya is an alluring ship offering inspiration with every twist and turn of the river.
She features 95 staterooms, all with an outside view, and refined and elegant lounges like the Observation Lounge with its floor to ceiling windows.
It’s no wonder they named this ship Freya after the Norse goddess of love and beauty.
Take in all that the Viking Freya and the beautiful rivers of Europe have to offer with a meal on the Aquavit Terrace, which allows you to dine al fresco when the weather permits.

From start to finish, the staff is amazing!!! Even if you prepay the gratuities, bring extra cash. You'll want to give an extra to those who serve you the meals and take care of your cabin. No is not in their vocabulary. They have such good humor and are extremely quick with a smile and a comeback. The staff makes the trip. Hats off to our favorite Freya employees, Stanislav, Desi and Anthony.
Pros: Everything is planned for you. You are met at the airport by a Viking representative and they hold you hand throughout the trip and give you flexibility or free time to explore. We never felt that we were too overwhelmed . We always felt safe.
Cons: The rooms are a little cramped but are big enough to survive a week or too.

The trip was great until the last two days. The bus ride from Trier to Paris was too long. Also being on the boat is the best part of the trip not having to pack, get off then have to unpack again in a hotel. We will never do another cruise that ends with staying in a hotel. It’s just too much work! Also the hotel we stayed in while in Paris was too far from the city. The shuttle rides into the city were 45-60 minutes long. Would much prefer to stay closer to town and be able to walk to restaurants, etc.
