We made life long friends and had the time of our lives, the Amasonata staff made us feel special everyday, our cruise manager was always on top of every tour and event, we will surely be back for another adventure
Pros: Amasonata staff covered every detail perfectly, all day everyday we were treated like family
Cons: Only that our cruise had to end

I highly recommend AMAWaterways and the Melodies of the Danube itinerary in particular. Not only were the tours great, the kitchen and wait staff made mealtimes a gourmet experience. The food was outstanding and offerings each day included local dishes form the region we were visiting. Also, the housekeeping staff did a wonderful job of keeping the rooms and bathrooms spotless and neat. This is my second AMA cruise, but it wonât be my last! The quality that AMAWaterways offers is more than several other companies that charge much higher rates than AMAWaterways does.
Pros: The cruise director was excellent and was very accessible for answering questions. Each tour was well organized and details were made clear ahead of time. There were several options for tours each day so the trip could be customized for individual preferences.

Some snacks from between lunch and dinner would be nice. Joy and Margarete were great. Entertainment was very good, Excursions were handled very well.
Pros: Wait staff went above and beyond

Lovely trip. Ship is tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean, and service is outstanding. This trip I was on the second deck, well toward the stern, compared to the third deck on my previous cruises. I did note more engine noise and vibration but it wasn't an issue. Actually, it was pretty soothing. And there was no noticeable noise from the deck above. My only issue is, as a solo traveler, waivers and extras are hit and miss, even for a repeat customer. My travel advisor was able to pursue an upgrade but still, there were several empty cabins on this sailing so the line was a little stingy as far as I'm concerned.
Pros: Small size and staff:guest ratio makes for intimate service
Cons: Cabin placement relative to engine noise

This was an unbelievable 10 days trip. Yes we had to change itinerary a bit due to low water on the Danube, but the changes made by the cruise director were great . Tough job to change itinerary on such short notice and still make the excursions perfect. We probably will never go back to a large ship again after doing this cruise. It's very personable. You get to know pretty much every staff member on the ship on a personal basis. Ama was a great company to do the cruise with also and we probably will not even try one of the others when this was already so great. Dejan was such a great cruise director. We would love to do another cruise with him. We already put down a deposit for our next cruise with Ama.
Pros: Loved the small group of 156 people on board the ship. Loved the fact that 90 of those people were on the pre 3 day excursion in Prague, so we met many people that were on our cruise before we started. Loved that the Cruise director spent the 3 days in prague with us. Loved everything about the cruise
