We were not sure what to expect but really thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. Viking made everything seamlessly easy for Chuck who uses a Rolator to get around. They had friendly, nice golf cart drivers to assist people up some of the steep hills to reach the coaches.
Pros: Staff was Typical Viking "excellent"! Food was very good. Staterooms were roomy and comfortable. We received a cold bottle of champagne when we arrived. Weather was lovely. Barrages 1/4 mile long being pushed by one tug boat were absolutely amazing to see. Vicksburg battle field was stunning.
Cons: Restaurant hours were a bit short. Even though it is a nuisance, we were shocked that unlike Europe we had NO safety muster!

The ship was lovely, clean and well thought out. Viking still needs to iron out some of the logistics, timing, and excursions for this new cruise, but they really do a nice job of trying to please everyone.
Pros: The guest music groups were great, as was the Viking Trio
Cons: The Restaurant did not vary the menu from day to day

Didn't know what to expect as this was my first experience with Viking, but the ship was beautiful, the staff very friendly and efficient, and the whole experience was top notch.
Pros: Beautiful ship, well maintained, friendly crew, great food, lovely scenery
Cons: Not the most exciting ports on the Upper Mississippi

Lack of adequate staffing detracts from overall enjoyment. Main dining room had some severe waits for food, ( staffing again ) . Recommendation would be neutral. Maybe even suggest American Queen. Viking does not seem totally committed to this river cruising. Probably our last ever on Viking. There are many people in the “cult”, while mildly complaining, only see Viking. Lower Mississippi is a challenging trip for people with some mobility issues. Unless a total fan, would not recommend Graceland; lots of standing/walking. Included excursions are fair, must like plantations.
Pros: Ship great, staff nice, nice launderette
Cons: Seriously understaffed,
