We just got back from a trip on the Viking Kadlin. This was a great opportunity to see Eastern Europe in a nice, easy way. One of the things that always attracts me to Viking is the fact that I can see so much and yet only unpack once. The tours are great, the food is great and everything about the River along ships is planned very well. The crew is incredible and we get to meet all kinds of interesting people during the cruise. We chose the great capitals of Eastern Europe trip which is 2 weeks because it allowed us to see seven different countries, five of which we've never been to. It allowed us to get a great view into the life of the many countries that used to be behind the iron curtain. In general, the people that live there were warm and welcoming and we had a great time.
Pros: All of the many experiences you can have. Boyd the free free trips each day as well as the optional adventures you can pay for. Of course we always take advantage of the silver sipper package.
Cons: The only downside I can think of is when we're in some port that's popular and another boat is parked next to us. Cuts down on us using our balcony.

Having only previously visited the first three stops on this cruise, we were looking forward to some new places and experiences. Seeing the previously communist-ruled cities and hearing personal stories from the tour guide and our program director about life under communism and their family’s experiences was so interesting. And so much history in these places! Viking service, the ship, food, attention to detail, use of professional local guides was all up to our expectations based on our 2 previous cruises. Michael, our Program Director, did an exemplary job reorganizing everything when we had to leave the ship one day early due to low water levels and there was no other ship coming the opposite direction to “simply” switch with. This involved and extra night of hotel reservations, food, reorganizing buses and guides, arranging opportunities for new included tours etc.

People with mobility issues should be aware that the side excursions do require a lot of walking, and the cobblestone streets and sidewalks can be difficult.
Pros: All positive! Amazing! The best trip ever! The ship was fantastic, best food, best service, wonderful sidetrips, everything so well organized. The staff and guides were all so very friendly and nice, and extremely knowledgeable.

We where even escorted through the Paris airport for our flight home.
