Overview
If you want to explore Egypt in luxury, the best way is on the S.S. Sphinx, a ship so luxurious it would be fit for Cleopatra herself.
A gorgeously appointed ship, she features three dining venues that will take you on a culinary journey along the river banks of the Nile, where many have not experienced the unique flavors of the region.
A swimming pool will cool you off from the heat of the African desert, while your eyes are delighted and your mind expanded by the local artwork, carvings, and wares that line the corridors of the luxurious S.S. Sphinx.
Each stateroom on S.S. Sphinx has a French Balcony, ideal for viewing the wonders of ancient Egypt from the comfort of your private oasis.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We loved Hazem as our guide; what a brilliant, fun spokesperson for Egypt, its culture and incredible history.
Pros: Staff, service, cleanliness, suite size and comfort, special events and lectures, breakfast and lunch buffets
Cons: Dinner was just not as flavorful as breakfast and lunch

The Sphinx ship was not in service- we were on the Tosca. It is an older ship but has large rooms/ very large bathrooms. An absolutely FABULOUS experience. Would highly recommend this to anyone physically capable. Ancient Egypt is amazing. Cairo leaves much to be desired. But overall this trip was one of the highlights of my life! I did not partake in the entertainment
Pros: AMAZING trip/ staff/ guides/ organization/ food/ sights/ overall experience
Cons: Several sights had uneven footing / stairs so not easily managed by some people.

See Pros and Cons above. I'm curious why the Sun Deck seemed underused, often for hours in the afternoon. Perhaps it was nap time? To the staff's credit, I was always able to get answers to my questions concerning life observed along the Nile, often enthusiastically and in great detail. Very much appreciated the fun exercise sessions offered (pilates, yoga and zumba)
Pros: Thoughtful ports/destinations chosen; great staff; skillful boatmanship; wonderful food and food service
Cons: Would have appreciated more explanation of life as observed along the Nile; hours and miles slipped by with no explanation of what was being observed.

Uniworld made travel so easy for me, a single woman. I was greeted at 2 airports by one of their representatives and driven to my first rate lodgings over 3 weeks. We had a special guide with us the whole time of sightseeing in Jordan and Egypt. I feel like we covered every possible place of interest. We were able to become travelers rather than tourists as our Jordanian guide referred to us.
Pros: Unpack once and settle in for 7 days
Cons: Did not care for the interior design of the ship but it was almost new and clean
