Cruisetours!
Photo Highlight
The focus of this month's Current is Cruisetours - the exceptionally valued vacation packages that pair a cruise with a land tour. Aside from being a great value, cruisetours allow guests to visit places not accessible by large ships, such as Paris, featured below.

Manager's Insight
Cruisetours!
Cruises are such a great way to see new parts of the world, a sampling of destinations. When visiting a destination for the first time or a place you may not have the opportunity to re-visit, you should also consider a cruisetour. Cruisetours combine a cruise plus a land tour to fully entrench guests into a destination. It allows you to see areas that are more inland, inaccessible by sea.
My first cruise was to Alaska when I was a teenager. Unsure if cruising was the right family vacation experience, we took only a seven day Alaska cruise. It was a great experience that exposed me to Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau, but now that I'm in the business, I know I missed out on so much more. Everyone raves about Denali National Park and the wildlife and scenery it has to offer. I missed out being awed by Mt. McKinley, the highest mountain peak in North America. I missed the glass-domed railcars. Now I'm going to have to go back to fully comprehend all that Alaska has to offer!
Continue through our newsletter to understand why cruisetours are a better value than a cruise alone, which destinations offer cruisetours (some of these may surprise you!) and much more.

Our employee profile this month features one of The Cruise Web's most promising up and coming stars, Kris Spealman. Kris worked with his father in construction before deciding to make the change to travel in 1999 when he began studying Hospitality and Travel Management at a technical school in York, PA. "It was immediately a great fit. I got great grades and my professors kept telling me how well I did, especially when presenting to the class."
Thankfully, Kris found The Cruise Web a year ago and began making an immediate impact. In his year here, Kris has developed thousands of loyal clients who happily call him their "cruise guy." "I love the job," says Kris, "These days there are so many people concerned with stressful things like money and work, that it's great to be in a position to help them plan and talk about something fun!" Kris gets extra excited when talking about his clients and how he's able to make dreams come true. "I've booked cruises for people who never thought they'd be able to do a cruise and helped them see places that they never thought they'd be able to see. It's really rewarding." He adds, "Happy clients are my goal. I've worked in a lot of jobs where there were no client relationships. Here at The Cruise Web, that's what it's all about. I like to feel good about coming to work."
The Current Spotlight: Cruisetouring the World!
By Kris Spealman, Senior Cruise Consultant
When most people hear "cruisetour," the first places they think of are Alaska and Europe. It's no surprise that cruisetours here are very popular because Alaska and Europe are beautiful places to visit. However, there are other destinations that deserve the same attention...

My Alaskan Cruisetour Adventure
By Jen Crivelli, Senior Cruise Consultant
Alaska is the largest state in the United States, over twice the size of Texas. Yet the majority of cruises to Alaska only visit the lower sixth of the state, including the major cities along the Inside Passage. To truly experience Alaska, you need to head inland, into the wilderness and away from the coast. The best way to do this is through an Alaska Cruisetour.
I recently visited Alaska on a Royal Caribbean 11-night Alaska Cruisetour starting from Fairbanks, Alaska aboard the beautiful Radiance of the Seas. Our flight landed in Fairbanks late in the evening and despite the late hour, the sun was shining bright...
