Photo Highlight
This month we dust off the clubs and hit the links for a perfect pairing of golf and cruising in our Golf-themed edition of The Current. Our photo highlight comes courtesy of Royal Caribbean and showcases one of the cruise line's ever popular miniature golf courses. And if our subject's unconventional putting style is any indication, it's probably safe to say that her brother has this one in the bag.

Manager's Insight
Golfing and Cruising - a Perfect Pairing!
My name is Chris Roth, I'm the Senior Manager of Sales and Client Services at The Cruise Web and it's my honor to tee off for our Golf-themed newsletter. When I took my first cruise in 2003, it was for our honeymoon. While packing for the trip, I distinctly remember that my golf clubs did not make the cut of things that I would get to bring along on the week-long Caribbean vacation. However, I eventually got my chance.
In the past six years, since I started working at The Cruise Web, I've found that for those of us who are golf enthusiasts, there are a number of unique opportunities for golfers to hit the links while on a cruise vacation (midnight golfing in Alaska, anyone?).
This month, Jarren Matthews walks you through how to plan your cruise so that you give yourself the opportunity to visit a couple of nice courses in some interesting settings. Brandon Biss, the company's best golfer, tells you how to not only maintain but improve your golf game while on a cruise vacation. He also touches on the topic of whether or not you should bring your clubs with you on a cruise.
And don't forget to respond to our poll and tell us who you'd most want to golf 18 holes with, dead or alive, real or fictional.
So thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter. We appreciate it, as always.

This month's profile features one of The Cruise Web's newest additions: Dennard Melton, Sales Recruiter. Charged with the job of finding top talent for our Cruise Consultant position, Dennard plays an integral role in the success of The Cruise Web.
Dennard started his academic career at The Naval Academy Prep School in Newport, R.I. before accepting a football scholarship to attend James Madison University. After working in insurance for a short time, he found his match working in recruiting for a firm in Baltimore, MD. "I love what I do," says Dennard. "I've always had a passion for helping people and trying to understand them. It's a challenge to dig in and find out what they want and what they want to do." When he arrived at The Cruise Web, he immediately recognized his new challenges. "This is a unique position. The Cruise Web is looking for personality; someone who is motivated and dedicated but also possesses the skills to succeed. In my last position, I was just looking for a specific skill, and motivation and personality weren't high priorities."
As one of the company's best golfers, Dennard is a natural fit for our Golf-themed employee profile. He's been golfing since he was 12 years old. "Golf was always recreational for me, especially when I was younger and more into basketball and football. But as I got older, it was more about being social with friends and having a good time. The good news is that Dennard is in the right industry for a golfer. His dream trip includes a Mediterranean cruise with a golf outing in Dubai. Sounds great, Dennard! Need a cruise consultant to help with that?
The Current Spotlight: The Perfect Country Club!
By Brandon Biss, Senior Cruise Consultant
Like many of us, I was introduced to golf by my father and grandfather. I still play the same courses where my grandfather taught me the game 20 years ago. Some see golf as just a game. Many of us see it as a metaphor of how we live our lives.

Cruising Around a Round
By Jarren Matthews,
Senior Cruise Consultant.
A golf outing is a popular and logical addition to a cruise vacation, but have you ever considered a cruise vacation built around golf? For golf enthusiasts, a well-planned cruise could turn into the golf adventure of a lifetime. For example, I recently had a group of 24 take a Caribbean cruise specifically for golf. They came back from the trip raving about not only the golfing destinations but also the cruise itself. While the Caribbean has its share of beautiful courses, it's not the only destination well-suited for golf. Read on for some of the most popular golf destinations available to cruisers.
