Tip: Both beaches have amenities like sunbeds and tavernas. They are easily accessible by taxi or local bus from Vathy or Pythagoreion.
Visit the unique Monastery of Panagia Spiliani (Our Lady of the Cave), located near Pythagoreion. This monastery is built into a large cave, providing a cool and atmospheric spiritual experience. Inside, you'll find icons and a spring with holy water.
Tip: The steps leading to the cave can be a bit steep, but the unusual setting and the views from the monastery are rewarding.
Explore the ruins of the Temple of Hera (Heraion of Samos), another UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the largest and most important ancient Greek sanctuaries dedicated to the goddess Hera. While only a single column remains standing today, the vast size and sacred atmosphere of the site are impressive.
