Mammoth Hot Springs, located in the northern part of Yellowstone National Park, is a one-of-a-kind geological wonder. Take a scenic drive on the one-way Upper Terraces Loop, which provides a different perspective of the geothermal activity. The road takes you past features like the Angel Terrace and the impressive Orange Spring Mound.
Tip: This drive is not suitable for RVs or large vehicles. There are pullouts along the way to stop and take photos.
Located in the historic Fort Yellowstone area, the Albright Visitor Center offers a wealth of information about the park's history, wildlife, and geology. The building itself is a former U.S. Army bachelor officers' quarters, adding to its historic charm.

At the northern end of the Lower Terraces, you'll find Liberty Cap, an unusual and striking cone-shaped hot spring formation. A short, easy walk on the boardwalk takes you to the base of this prominent landmark.
Tip: Liberty Cap stands at 37 feet tall and is a popular photo spot due to its unique shape and size.
Explore the Fort Yellowstone Historic District, a collection of preserved military buildings. The U.S. Army was brought in to protect the park from poachers and vandalism in the late 19th century, and their presence left a significant mark on the park's history.
Tip: Many of the buildings, including the former Guard House and the chapel, are still in use as park headquarters and other facilities.
