For a taste of old-school Vegas, head downtown to the Fremont Street Experience. This pedestrian mall features a massive LED canopy with a spectacular light and sound show (Viva Vision), a zip line flying high above the crowd, and free live concerts.
Tip: The light show runs every hour on the hour in the evening, so time your visit to catch it.
Las Vegas has become a foodie paradise, with a staggering number of celebrity-chef restaurants and fine dining options. You can find every type of cuisine imaginable, from exquisite French to Japanese omakase, often within the resorts themselves.
Tip: Make reservations for popular restaurants far in advance, especially for weekend dinners.
Just a short drive from the Strip is the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. This stunning natural wonder offers a scenic loop drive, numerous hiking trails for all skill levels, and opportunities for rock climbing. It's a perfect escape from the city lights.
Tip: The scenic loop drive requires a timed reservation entry during certain hours, so book in advance on recreation.gov.
Beyond the typical entertainment, Las Vegas offers a variety of unique attractions. You can visit the Mob Museum for a look into organized crime history, ride the High Roller observation wheel for a 360-degree view of the city, or explore the Neon Museum, a graveyard for old Las Vegas signs.
Tip: The Neon Museum is particularly photogenic and is best visited at sunset to see the signs lit up.
