Take a short drive (approx. 15-20 minutes) inland to the Archaeological Site of Philippi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient city was founded by King Philip II of Macedon (father of Alexander the Great) and later became a major Roman colony and the first place in Europe where Apostle Paul preached Christianity. Explore its well-preserved theatre, forum, basilicas, and the Via Egnatia.
