Admire and walk across the Hercílio Luz Bridge (Ponte Hercílio Luz), an iconic suspension bridge that has become the symbol of Florianópolis. Reopened after extensive restoration, it connects the island to the mainland and offers fantastic views of the city and bay.

For a more developed beach experience with plenty of infrastructure, head north to Praia dos Ingleses or Canasvieiras. These beaches are popular with tourists and offer a wide range of restaurants, shops, and water activities.
Tip: These beaches are easily accessible by taxi or local bus from the city center and offer calm waters suitable for families.
Florianópolis is renowned for its fresh seafood, particularly oysters and shrimp, as it is Brazil's largest oyster producer. Indulge in a delicious seafood meal at one of the many restaurants, especially around Lagoa da Conceição or Ribeirão da Ilha.
Tip: Try the local oysters, often served raw or grilled, and classic Brazilian seafood stews like moqueca.
