Access to Èze from these ports typically involves a bus or taxi transfer up the winding roads to the village. Ascend to the very top of the village to discover the magnificent Exotic Garden, built amidst the ruins of a 12th-century castle. For the very active and if time permits, consider walking a portion of the Nietzsche Path, a steep trail connecting the clifftop village of Èze to Èze-sur-Mer (the seaside part of town). This scenic but challenging path is where philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche reportedly found inspiration.
Tip: This is a very strenuous descent/ascent. Only attempt if you are fit, have appropriate footwear, and ample time. Most cruise excursions will not include this.
