Pasuruan, Indonesia Cruise Port

One of the most popular destinations in East Java, the cruise port of Pasuruan, Indonesia has a rich culture and plenty of scenic beauty. Located on the Madura Strait near the Java Sea, the city of around 186,000 residents was first visited by the Dutch, who built a fort here in 1707. With different areas of industry contributing to its economy, the nearby rice-growing area is one of the most important. It's the province's fourth largest city and warm all year long, making this a great place for outdoor adventures regardless of what the calendar says. Those who enjoy golf will be happy to know that Pasuruan has fantastic golf clubs – which may include additional activities such as paintball. If time allows, a tour to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is in order. About 30 miles south of Pasuruan, the park is a protected area, containing a group of five volcanoes called Tengger Caldera. Within this group is one of one of Indonesia’s most active volcanoes: Mount Semeru, which erupts with some frequency. There's little vegetation higher up, but lush forest below with plenty of flora and fauna.
For some nature closer to the city, check out Bhakti Alam. This pretty park includes a pleasant view, tour of the fruit crops, and a fishing pond (where you can catch your own fish, which is then cooked for you).
West of the city is the Candi Jawi or Jawi Temple, dating back to the 13th century. This Hindu-Buddhist was a place of worship for those following the Shiva-Buddha sect, a syncretic religion patronized by King Hayam Wuruk. The mountains provide a scenic backdrop to the restored temple, whose various relics can be found in the Trowulan Museum.
The picturesque Air Terjun Putuk Truno Prigen or Putuk Truno Waterfall is a refreshing escape from the city. There are plenty of areas around it to sit, rest, and just enjoy nature.
