Hendaye (Biarritz), France Cruise Port

As a commune located in the Pyrenees-Atlantiques department and Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France, Hendaye is a popular seaside tourist resort. It’s located close to the Franco-Spanish border, right on the bank of the beautiful River Bidasoa. The town square is often the main center of activities, and there’s even a weekly open market on Wednesdays. It’s also the location of the Great Cross of Hendaye, a stone cross carved in the 17^th century that has alchemic symbols etched upon it that some occultists believe is a premonition about the end times. Various ruins from the 17^th century are scattered throughout the town, many of which were once fortresses where some of the weaponry, including old canons, are partially preserved. Hendaye is home to the Jumeaux rocks, or the bell stones. These towering rock stacks, carved over time by the passage of waves, are visible from the beach and appear both beautiful and welcoming.

• Gaze at the breathtaking view of the border between France and Spain at the Bay of Txingudi. Sitting right on the Bidasoa estuary that separates the two countries, you’ll discover a pristine spot for bird watching.
