Fionnphort, Island Of Mull Cruise Port

• Fidden Farm is first and foremost a camp ground, but it's certainly not just for camping. With its coastal location perfect for spotting bottlenose dolphins, whales, and sea eagles, it's also a great place for kayaking. The camp's shop also offers the Selkirk Bannock Bun, a rich fruity dessert that tops off the day's activities with a nice sugar rush.
   
• For a bit of history (granted, more about Iona's history), visit the Columbia Centre. Featuring a charming turf roof, it combines background information about the island of Iona along with the life of St. Columba, the Irish abbot and missionary who spread Christianity throughout Scotland.
   
• For the geology buffs, find the rocks just south of Fionnphort jetty where pink granite intermingles with grey rock. If you climb the pink granite hill near to the beach, there's a lovely view of Iona.
   
• A stop at The Ferry Shop is a must to load up on locally-made gifts and souvenirs, wines, books about the area, groceries, and whatever else you might need for a day out. There's also a post office right in the shop to drop off your postcards. It's also the place to find Fionnphort's lone ATM.
