English Harbour, Antigua Cruise Port

• Nelson’s Dockyard is a major attraction in the region. It was at one point the base of the British Navy. It was abandoned in 1889 after the decline in the island’s strategic and economic importance. Among the elements on display is a telescope that was once used by Admiral Nelson.
   
• Galleon Beach is one of the best beaches in the region. It has numerous facilities that travellers will enjoy and is definitely worth visiting. It also has a snorkelling reef near the shore and a hiking trail at the end that leads to further beaches.
   
• Fort Berkeley is a fort, which was built in 1704 to protect English Harbour. Although it is ruined, it has multiple walls and cannon that reflect the colonial era. It is a good place to visit especially for history lovers.
   
• Dows Hill Interpretation Centre is an ideal establishment that offers the opportunity to learn about the history of Antigua dating back from the Amerindian era to the present. A person will also get the chance to watch a 15-minute multimedia presentation that details the region’s history.
