CAMPBELTOWN, Scotland Cruise Port

A peninsula in southwestern Scotland, this humble town was once known as the Whisky Capital of the World for the iconic Campbeltown single malts that have been distilled here for centuries. A modest population of under 5,000, Campbeltown is home to structures dating back to the early 14th century, notably a Celtic cross in the city center that served as a marker for local markets. Throughout its history, this small city has been a Scotch town with a fishing problem, but few know that The Beatles’ Paul McCartney penned Mull of Kintyre as an ode to a place where he owns a farm and fell in love with his late wife, Linda.
