In Bhamo, you won’t find a town overrun with tourists, instead you’ll find culture, charming markets, delicious restaurants, and friendly residents. In ancient times, Bhamo was an important stop on the trade route with China. Now, although it lost some of its popularity, it has grown to be one of Myanmar’s more relaxed and attractive destinations. Along the central riverfront is old teak-stained houses with stunning rain trees – which get their name from the lovely pink flowers that bloom during the monsoon season.
