Visit St. Stephen's Minster (St. Stephansmünster)
The landmark of Breisach is St. Stephen's Minster, an impressive Romanesque-Gothic cathedral perched atop the Münsterberg. The climb is rewarded with spectacular panoramic views over the town, the Rhine River, the vineyards, the Vosges Mountains in France, and the Black Forest. Inside, the church houses significant artworks, including a late Gothic high altar and murals by Martin Schongauer.
Tip: The walk to the cathedral is steep but rewarding. At the top, there is also a small museum on local history within the Rheintor gate.
