Overview
Blarney is a small, picturesque village located in County Cork, in the southwest region of Ireland. Known globally as the home of the legendary Blarney Stone and the magnificent Blarney Castle, this destination is a must-see for visitors exploring the rich history and folklore of the Emerald Isle. Located near the castle, this unique garden features a collection of toxic and dangerous plants from around the world. All plants are safely caged or carefully labeled with signs explaining their lethal properties.
Tip: Be sure to read the signs, but keep your hands outside the enclosure!
This enchanted area is believed to be the site of an ancient druid circle. Follow the winding paths past massive stone formations, wishing steps, and the legendary Witch's Cave, soaking in the magical atmosphere.
Tip: If you walk backward down the Wishing Steps with your eyes closed, it's said your wish will come true.
While the Castle is a ruin, Blarney House is a grand Scottish Baronial style mansion nearby. Though often closed, checking the schedule for tours is worthwhile to see its elegant interiors and architecture.
Tip: Even if tours aren't running, the view of the House from the surrounding gardens is beautiful.
Located in the village center, this large heritage store is a fantastic place to buy authentic Irish goods, including sweaters, crystal, linen, and souvenirs. It’s a great spot to find gifts for family and friends.
