Climb the steep Lakis stone steps—around 264 of them—that lead from the main road up to the Clock Tower and the Church of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary. The effort is rewarded with one of the best views of the entire village and the surrounding Parnassus landscape.

Explore the vast Parnassus National Park, Greece’s first national park, which covers huge areas of the mountain range. Depending on the season, you can enjoy marked trails for easy nature walks, spot local flora and fauna, and find peaceful spots for a picnic.

Even if you aren't skiing, taking a ride up one of the lifts (when operational) or visiting the main chalet provides breathtaking high-altitude views of the mountain landscape. In the summer, the slopes are green and provide excellent high-altitude hiking opportunities.

This historic church is located high above the main town. It played an important role in the Greek War of Independence and features beautiful iconography and a quiet, reverent atmosphere.
Tip: The short walk to the church offers lovely views and a chance to see more of the traditional architecture.
Since Arachova is so close, you must take a trip down the mountain to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Delphi, home to the famous Oracle. Explore the Temple of Apollo, the ancient stadium, and the museum for an incredible lesson in Greek mythology and history.
Tip: Start your Delphi visit early in the day to avoid the midday sun and crowds.
Spend time browsing the local shops for traditional products. Arachova is renowned for its handmade woven textiles, carpets, and the protected-designation cheese called Formaela—a hard, slightly salty cheese that is often grilled.
