Royal Caribbean Accessibility
No matter who the cruiser, and what their situation, Royal Caribbean is there to ensure a perfect cruising experience so that each vacation is as good as the next. Here are a few of the accessibility features Royal Caribbean focuses on:
Mobility Disabilities
Royal Caribbean ships are equipped with accessible staterooms in various categories. Throughout their ships, there are elevators, ramps and automatic doors. Each ship maintains a minimum of one lift for access to pool and hot tubs.
Hearing Disabilities
Guests with hearing impairment are provided access to hearing room kits and Teletypewriters in their stateroom. Assistive listening systems are available in the main theater. 60 days' notice is required for those needing sign language interpretation.
Visual Disabilities
In addition to using Braille and/or large print wherever available, Royal Caribbean allows the use of service dogs, provided the guests gives a thirty day notice. In restaurants on board, Qualified Readers will be available in lieu of Braille menus.
Children with Disabilities
Children with disabilities will love a Royal Caribbean cruise, too! Adventure Ocean is able to group children by ability, not age, to ensure that children are with others with their same ability level. Also offered are pagers for parents and in-room babysitting services.
Autism Friendly Certification from Autism on the Seas Foundation
Special Dietary Needs
Low-fat, low-sodium and gluten free items are always available in Royal Caribbean dining areas. Guests requiring lactose free milk must give the cruise line 45 days' notice. Food allergies will be handled on board by the head waiter.
Other Accessibility Notes
- Oxygen/dialysis equipment permitted
- Accommodations for those short in stature or large in size
