The eastern corner of Crete is where you will find Aghioa Nikolaos (also spelled Agios Nikolaos), where some of the most significant ancient ruins can be found. • Walk along Mt. Dikti, where you will be able to take in the surrounding villages and bay area, as well as the more rural landscapes.
   
• Visit the Kera Monastery, which contains many ancient paintings and Byzantine icons its historic stone walls.
   
• Shop along the outdoor stores for local crafts, clothing, home décor and foods – or perhaps relax in a nearby café absorbing the music filling the streets.
