Explore the Palace of Knossos, restored on a grander scale; you will be able to see the four wings that once served as an administrative and religious complex in 1900 BC. The royal living quarters, theatre areas, potters’ workshops and store rooms can also be seen today.
Walk along Mt. Dikti, where you will be able to take in the surrounding villages and bay area, as well as the more rural landscapes.
Visit the Kera Monastery, which contains many ancient paintings and Byzantine icons its historic stone walls.
Shop along the outdoor stores for local crafts, clothing, home décor and foods – or perhaps relax in a nearby café absorbing the music filling the streets.
