It wouldn't be hard to hold an Olympic games on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, winter or summer. These ships are built with so many spaces and features perfect for the active person, there is no chance you'll get bored onboard. Plus you'll stay in shape with these active pursuits.
Consider constructing a day of athletic adventures on board, where in the morning you can warm up with a run on the open-air track. Then head to the gym for a weight lifting competition, or grab a pair of gloves and head into the boxing ring. Later in the day you can hop in the pool and try to break one of Michael Phelps' best records. In the afternoon, join in on a basketball game or take some time out to practice your golf swing.
There are plenty of other adventure sports to take advantage off as well. Some Royal Caribbean ships will have scuba diving classes onboard, so check with your cruise consultant to see if this is available on your sailing. You can also practice your surf skills on the ship's FlowRider surf simulator. If you feel the need for speed, then head to the inline skating track to feel a true breeze on your face. And for the best view on the ship, you'll have to climb to the top of the rock-climbing wall.
Last, but certainly not least, finish your active schedule with a triple salchow on the ice skating rink. Afterwards, reward yourself with a beautiful dinner at one of the ship's specialty restaurants or at the main dining room, and go ahead, order two desserts, you earned it.
