My name is Hans Hansen, and I am a Marketing and Operations Associate at The Cruise Web. I have just returned from a weeklong Hawaii vacation on the beautiful island of Maui, where I experienced firsthand several of the fun-filled excursions that the island has to offer. Here are my TOP 3 favorite activities that I enjoyed while on the island, and that you can enjoy when booking your next Hawaiian vacation with The Cruise Web—whether as a cruise or land resort package.
#1 – Surfing in Hawaii
For avid surfers, a Hawaii vacation is the trip for you. Even if you have never been on a surfboard before, there is no better place to learn the ropes than Hawaii. The Aloha State is littered with surf schools top to bottom, where seasoned instructors are equipped to teach anyone and everyone the way of the waves. I had never surfed before my trip to Maui, and by day four I was riding the waves all the way to the beach. It is not only the act of surfing which makes the experience so enjoyable, but the entire process. From paddling out to the waves, to catching the amazing views of the island, to cruising back in toward the beach, my first surfing experience in Maui is one that I will remember forever.
#2 – Ziplining in Hawaii
Travelers who enjoy adrenaline-pumping fun and breathtaking views should certainly add a zipline tour to their itinerary. When I was in Maui, I visited the largest dual zipline course on the island. Beginning at the base of a 1.7-million-year-old volcano, the Kapalua Zipline crew took me on a smooth ATV ride through luscious rainforest up to the six-line zipline course. These six, safe and secure ziplines span from about 500 feet to just shy of half-a-mile long, while overlooking thousands of acres of private, natural land. It is hard to put into words just how I felt smoothly coasting above miles of untouched rainforest, and I would highly recommend travelers to experience it for themselves when visiting Hawaii.
#3 – Visiting Maui’s Beautiful Beaches
Hawaii is home to some of the most picturesque beaches in the world, which are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or simply basking in the sun. I went to the beach every day during my stay on the island and enjoyed all the above. When you vacation in Hawaii, rent or bring a snorkel and some goggles and you are guaranteed to see an array of vibrantly colored fish only feet off the shore. The Hawaii weather is perfect, boasting mid-80s warmth accompanied by a smooth breeze without the dreaded humidity of Southeastern U.S. beaches. Whether you are looking to get active or to just relax in the sun, you cannot go wrong if you spend the majority of your Hawaiian vacation visiting Hawaii’s beaches.
My trip to Hawaii is one that I will remember forever. There is so much to do and so much culture to experience that one piece of writing cannot even begin to scratch the surface. I implore you to add a Hawaii vacation to your bucket list today. To find out if a cruise or land vacation are best for you, speak with one of The Cruise Web’s experts at 1-800-377-9383.
