Many of our employees have been fortunate enough to experience the beauty of wildlife in its natural habitat, whether from a ship, underwater, or on good ol’ dry land. From any vantage point, it’s truly incredible (if sometimes scary) to witness animals in the wild.
The Cruise Web employees have decided to share with you some of our New Year’s Resolutions for 2011. We all hope to keep them and will encourage each other to achieve our goals throughout the year ahead! While the holidays are a good time to count our blessings and reflect on the past year, it’s important to remember those that may not have been so fortunate. Keeping that in mind this holiday season, The Cruise Web decided to reach out to Bright Beginnings, a local child development center in Washington, DC, and offer a little holiday spirit. After establishing a company goal for donations, it was exciting to watch our company pull together for a better cause. Altogether, our employee donations, which were matched by The Cruise Web, exceeded our original goal! We used the donations to buy clothing, toys, shoes, diapers, and other much-needed items for Bright Beginnings, their children and families.
On December 8, 2010, The Cruise Web rang in the holiday season with its Annual Holiday Cocktail Party. The party, held at Hudson Restaurant and Lounge in Washington, DC, proved to be a huge success as co-workers shook off their work titles and spent the evening relaxing and socializing as friends.
On October 20, 2010, The Cruise Web sales team attended Holland America’s annual Moose Mobile training for a hands-on experience inside the cruise line’s motor coach. The Moose Mobile, which offers adventurous trips through Alaska in a luxurious and comfortable motor coach, spent the day parked outside The Cruise Web office. The team was educated on everything from the different Alaska cruises and cruise tours, to the best places to see wildlife and the peak of the fall colors.
When on a cruise or touring a new destination, everyone loves to indulge in the local foods and treats, usually breaking away from our healthy eating! The Cruise Web staff has come together to share with you some secrets behind our favorite treats, both on and off the ship! We would love for you to share some of your favorite “treats!”
Halloween is the perfect time of year to let loose and step into an alter ego! The staff at The Cruise Web has taken a walk down memory lane and picked some of their own personal favorite costumes from Halloweens past and present. Do you have a favorite costume that you or someone you’ve seen has worn? We would love to hear your favorites! Plus it’s a great way to get ideas for this Halloween in case you haven’t started creating your costume yet!
Our President, Frans Hansen, has had plenty of success in life, however he has recently fulfilled his 2010 goal to be a champion on the racetrack! Just this year, Frans started to participate in NASA (National Auto Sport Association) racing. For the uninitiated, NASA is an organization dedicated to organizing and promoting racing activities for both the aspiring or accomplished racers. Most people who wind up in the big championship races have been at this level of competition for years, but not Frans. He made his way to the top in less than nine months.
The Baby Stork has been busy delivering two beautiful new additions to The Cruise Web family. In the past month both Manager Chris Roth and Senior Sales Consultant Corinna Crockett welcomed healthy baby boys one day apart!
