Big changes are blowing in the wind, literally. Starting on November 1st, Norwegian Cruise Line is expanding their no smoking policy to prohibit smoking on the balconies and all public areas, as well as limiting smoking in the casino to players only. This sweeping new policy includes both traditional lit tobacco products as well as electronic cigarettes. A few exceptions will of course be made, allowing guests to smoke on the sun decks of the Garden Villas and on The Waterfront aboard the Getaway and Breakaway. However, this new policy is designed to cater to the increasing number of non-smoking passengers.
Guests who smoke outside of designated areas will face a $250 cleaning charge on their onboard account. Additionally, if any burns occur on furniture, linens or carpets, guests will be charged for damages.
