Princess Cruises is debuting its first ship in over four years this June, the Royal Princess. This ship promises to deliver the amenities Princess cruisers crave, along with some new features that are sure to be innovators in the cruise industry, like a batting cage, TV studio, and SkyWalk.

The ship will accommodate 3,600 passengers on 19 decks. Aside from the new features mentioned above, the Royal Princess will have balconies on all outside staterooms, the largest 'Movies Under the Stars' screen on any Princess ship and an exclusive adults-only pool on the upper deck.

In total, the Royal Princess will be 20 percent larger than any other Princess ship. The Piazza, which is the center of most Princess ships, with restaurants, bars, and lounges, will be 50 percent bigger than The Piazza on any other Princess ship. There will be more dining options on this ship, too, including a gelateria, a crab shack, and a buffet offering fondue. But the real highlights of this ship are the brand new features.

New Features

Sports Complex

The two-story sports zone will feature the first ever batting cage at sea where you can have a chance to hit a homer onboard. The sports zone will also have a putting green, an area to play bocce ball, an indoor golf range and a shooting range that uses lasers instead of bullets.

Princess Live!

This is a TV studio where the ships daily program will be filmed live. The 280-seat studio will also play host to several onboard activities like trivia games, cooking demonstrations and acoustic performances.

SkyWalk

This feature promises to thrill. The SkyWalk is a glass-enclosed walkway that extends 28 feet farther than the edge of the ship. The walkway will be approximately 128 feet above the water with glass floors for a spectacular view of the ocean. And your reward for crossing this walkway is a seat at the exclusive Seaview bar with amazing views.

Is there a new feature you are most looking forward to on the Royal Princess?
