Carnival Cruise Line Introduces New Pumpkin Ale and Teases Upcoming Beach Lager at the Great American Beer Festival

Carnival Cruise Line has the unique distinction of operating the only shipboard breweries in North America. This October, they also became the first cruise company to present at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. They showcased their most popular craft beers, including: ParchedPig Toasted Amber, ParchedPig West Coast IPA, and ThirstyFrog Caribbean Wheat. Carnival also took the opportunity to introduce ParchedPig Pumpkin Ale, a new seasonal beer that will be available on tap, in bottles, and in 22-ounce “bombers” throughout their fleet by late October.

Currently available in kegs and cans, this Pumpkin Ale wowed the festival’s more than 60,000 attendees with its bold, full-bodied flavor. Carnival’s in-house brewing team, in conjunction with Brew Hub, spiced up this autumn treat with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, caramel, and cloves. Available only for a limited time, ParchedPig Pumpkin Ale is the ideal refreshment for fall cruising.

Edward Allen, Carnival’s vice president of beverage operations said, “Showcasing a selection of our beers among some of the top breweries in the country and introducing our product to the thousands of beer enthusiasts at The Great American Beer Festival is a true highlight for our team.” He added, “We’re constantly evolving our beverage choices, including the quality and variety of our beers, and this was the perfect opportunity to debut the new ParchedPig Pumpkin Ale and announce ParchedPig Beach Lager as we continue to provide our guests with even more exciting choices on board.”

Amidst the festival’s proverbial sea of more than 800 brewers, Carnival drew even more attention when they announced their upcoming ParchedPig Beach Lager. This newest addition to the ParchedPig line is a light and refreshing, German-style beer that will be available aboard the newly christened Carnival Panorama when she departs from Long Beach, California in December. Set to be brewed and served at Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse, long-time Carnival partner and Food Network star, Guy Fieri feels this beer will pair perfectly with his signature barbecue cuisine.

Colin Presby, Carnival’s brewmaster, said, “ParchedPig Beach Lager is a light, drinkable beer that’s a personal favorite of mine and serves as the perfect accompaniment for whatever guests want to do on board, whether it’s relaxing by the pool or enjoying delicious barbecue.”
