Windstar Cruises has recently revealed that they will be adding the Yacht Club Café to Wind Spirit and Wind Star ships over the next few months. This new area will serve as a relaxed and causal gathering space for meeting friends, engaging in conversation, playing games, or curling up with a good book. Guests will also be able to enjoy specialty coffee and snacks for a quick bite.
In addition, Windstar will be transforming the casino to make room for this new café space. This decision coincides with Windstar’s move to discontinue casino operations on all of their Star Class ships. The space that now houses the casino will serve as an extended space of the Compass Rose Lounge and become a wine tasting area.
Here is a chart of when each ship is expected to close for the update:
Ship | Casino Closing Date | New Space Opening/Itinerary |
Wind Star | 11/4/18 | 11/20/19 – Ocean Crossing: LIS-BGI |
Wind Spirit | 1/28/19 | 2/7/19 – Dreams of Tahiti: PPT RT |
Star Pride | 4/12/19 | 4/12/19 – Spanish Serenade: LIS-BCN |
Wind Surf | 4/23/19 | 11/30/19 – Spanish Symphony: LIS-BCN |
Star Breeze | 4/26/19 | 4/28/19 – Island Gems of Spain & Portugal: LIS RT |
Star Legend | 5/22/19 | 5/24/19 – Alaskan Splendors: SEW-YVR |
“We are confident that this change will be a positive addition to the Windstar cruise vacation and will be an enhancement to our guest experience overall,” says VP of Sales, Steven Kona Simao.
