In October our cruise consultants got to take a tour of the stately Crystal Symphony. The intimate luxury ship was in Baltimore getting ready to embark on an exciting voyage. Overall our consultants were extremely impressed by the décor and styling of the ship, along with the tasty food. Take a look at some of their thoughts, and if you’d like to learn more about Crystal Cruises be sure to call The Cruise Web to speak with an expert cruise consultant.

The Symphony offers one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the industry. This means you can get what you want without waiting in line. The size of the ship also allows her to dock in many smaller ports.

The Crystal Symphony is a beautiful ship with incredible décor. I was pleasantly surprised by how many of the pieces of furniture, fabrics and rugs I wanted to have in my own home. As I looked around I felt that whatever I needed could be quickly fulfilled by the friendly staff. I was also impressed by the wide-spread activities that you could take part in, from grabbing some golf clubs and practicing your swing to watching Monday Night Football on the big screen or dining in some of the most posh restaurants such as Silk Road the Sushi Bar by Nobu. I think the Crystal Symphony has something for all generations and ages to enjoy on a relaxing luxury cruise.

I loved the elegant, contemporary style and the beautiful colors of the ship. The relaxed atmosphere onboard is perfect for a vacation, and the excellent staff and service are wonderful.

I think the ship’s interior looks very classic, it has wonderful décor. It is very intimate. The appetizers that we tasted were very flavorful and they offered a wide selection.

My first impression of Crystal Symphony was ‘this has luxury written all over it.’ It was a very well maintained ship from the railings to the glass doors. I felt like I was in a lobby of a 5-star hotel. I particularly loved the small details of the Symphony, like the chairs in the dining area and lounges that looked like sculptures belonging in an art gallery. I also liked the unique design of the carpets, from the theatre to the dining area to the hallways. For me, a cruise line that cares about the small details means they have mastered the necessities of the bigger details.

Last October I had the opportunity to sail aboard the Crystal Serenity in the Mediterranean, an experience I truly enjoyed, so when the opportunity arose to tour the Symphony, Crystal’s other ship, I jumped on it. While slightly smaller in size than Serenity (922 passengers to Serenity‘s 1,080 passengers), the ships looked very similar in layout. The décor is very understated with soft colors and traditional design. There is nothing at all fussy about this luxury ship. The service, as to be expected, was very friendly and attentive. We had a buffet lunch prepared for us with a sampling of food. I had a very delicious cream of roasted garlic soup that was wonderful and welcome on that chilly day. There were also turkey meatballs, falafel, curried chicken salad, assorted small sandwiches, wraps and salad. There was also an assortment of sweets to choose from – my favorite were the brownie bites.
All in all, it was a very informative few hours and a great opportunity to compare the ships. I am certainly ready for my next Crystal cruise.
