Several of The Cruise Web’s employees recently returned from an exciting two-day inaugural celebration aboard the Celebrity Silhouette. The inaugural cruise departed from Bayonne, New Jersey and marked the beginning of what is sure to be a bright future for Celebrity Cruises’ newest ship. I have never sailed on Solstice-class so the whole experience was new to me. I love the Lawn Club as an alternative to sitting by the pool. I was up there multiple times daily. I can’t really pick one thing that was my favorite, but I will say that it was my first cruise without any children around and it was quite pleasant. Not to say there will never be children on board as they do have kids activities, but I feel like this is geared more towards adults. For grown-ups who need a bit of a break, I feel like this is a great option.

It was one of the best experiences I have ever had, the staff was extra friendly, the atmosphere was very relaxing and tranquil. I would definitely recommend the Silhouette for a romantic getaway or a relaxing retreat.

My favorite part of the Silhouette is the new Lawn Grill, the new specialty restaurant on the Lawn Club. It is a wonderful location to enjoy a meal al fresco, at sunset or even late night under the stars. The menu is a mix of grill items and customized brick oven pizza.

This is the kind of ship that makes me proud to work in the cruise industry. The design is truly unique and modern. My favorite thing about the ship is the seemingly endless places available to ‘get away from it all.’ While the Silhouette is a larger ship, you never feel like there is a crowd onboard.

I enjoyed running at sunrise on the jogging track and saw a few dolphins swimming alongside the ship. I followed it up by taking a dip in the Solarium’s hot tub and had an awesome cup of coffee. It was like I had the Resort Deck almost entirely to myself! Overall it was very relaxing and I can’t wait to go again.

The Celebrity Silhouette inaugural was an incredible experience. It was a great opportunity to see Celebrity’s newest ship and the future of the Celebrity fleet. From the beautifully appointed cabins to the extraordinary service, Celebrity definitely put their best foot forward! I am looking forward to seeing the Celebrity Reflection debut next year.

I fully enjoyed the ship. There were nice little additions that I have not seen on other ships such as the Hideaway and the Apple learning center. The staterooms were great and we had the benefit of staying in one of the spa balconies and were able to use the Persian Garden at no additional charge which was a nice amenity I would suggest to anyone.
I would love to get on this or another one of the Solstice-class ships again in the near future.

The Silhouette is an awesome ship. I really enjoyed the Lawn Club area – a great place to hang out on sunny days at sea. You can also lounge by the pool in the Solarium or relax in the Hideaway. Specialty restaurants Blu and Tuscan Grill have a very unique and inviting decor. The cabins are tastefully decorated and well appointed.

I had two favorites. The first was the Persian Garden – what an incredible way to relax on the warm tile beds while looking out at the ocean. Pure relaxation. Next was the food on board, all wonderful! Bistro on Five was wonderful. Lighter food and great crepes. The Silhouette is incredible all around.
