The Norwegian Getaway will feature the Broadway hit Legally Blonde on all of her sailings. This seven-time Tony nominated show ran on Broadway for a year and was based on the hit-movie starring Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods. The show uses fun songs and dances to tell the story of Elle, a blonde girly girl who follows an ex-boyfriend to Harvard to win him back, but in the process surprises everyone by succeeding in her classes and finding a new love.
The show will be performed in the ship’s 787-seat Getaway theater.
In addition, the Getaway will play host to some of comedy’s top names, as Norwegian has partnered with Levity Entertainment Group to bring on lots of comedians to perform onboard at the Headliners Comedy Club. Levity Entertainment Group currently represents Daniel Tosh of Tosh.0, Bill Cosby and Jeff Dunham. There will be 12 comedy shows per week on the Getaway.
These two new entertainment options are just the latest to be announced. The Getaway is also set to feature the ballroom dance sensation Burn the Floor, a dueling piano bar sing-a-long called Howl at the Moon and an Illusionarium where magic takes center stage. The Getaway is the sister ship to the Norwegian Breakaway, which just made her debut in New York. The Getaway will homeport in Miami and sail 7-day sailings to the Eastern Caribbean starting Feb. 1, 2014.
