The biggest golf event of the year is not going to be on a course, it’s not even going to be on land. It’s going to be in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea aboard the Crystal Serenity this July and again in the North Sea in August aboard the Crystal Symphony. Passengers on either of these cruises will have the chance to play with 51-time PGA tour winner Billy Casper who will be hosting the Crystal Golf Cruises.
Casper was voted the 15th greatest golfer of all time in a 2000 issue of Golf Digest and has been widely considered one of the best players of his generation. On the cruise, Casper will be joined by PGA pro John Clark, who will hold clinics on board. There will also be golf equipment firms and two driving ranges available for passengers.
The cruise will also include luxury excursions to renowned golf courses like the Real Club de Golf El Prat in Barcelona, which was designed by Greg Norman, and the Royal Belfast Golf Club, which is Ireland’s oldest. While on a golf excursion, Crystal passengers will also have lunch and a special 19th-hole cocktail in the club house. Crystal will also arrange team-pairing, carts and caddies, and club and shoe cleaning and storage.
“We design these cruises to be a golfing traveler’s dream,” says John Stoll, Crystal’s vice president of land and port operations. “Guests need not worry about maneuvering complex foreign logistics, only packing their clubs — we take care of everything else in the finest of style.”
