You might have seen one fish, two fish, a red fish or a blue fish on your last cruise, but I’m sure you didn’t see the fish that Dr. Seuss had in mind. The company that represents the late Dr. Seuss and his beloved books and characters has partnered with Carnival Cruise Lines to offer Seuss at Sea on all Carnival sailings. The program will eventually be featured on every ship starting with the Carnival Splendor in February. By 2015, the program will be fully implemented and the Carnival Vista, which will join the fleet in 2016, will even have a Dr. Seuss Bookville, an imaginative space on board featuring fanciful furniture and decor.
The Seuss at Sea program includes a character breakfast where your child will get a chance to dine on green eggs and ham, goose juice and other breakfast favorites while characters like the Cat in the Hat come by to say hi. Onboard each ship there will be toys and books for your family to enjoy at anytime. The big screen at the pool deck will also be a spot to check out some of the best movies made out of Dr. Seuss’ creations.
On one sea day per sailing there will be the Seuss-a-palooza Story Time, where everyone’s favorite books come to life in an amazing and imaginative performance. On other days there will be a Seuss-a-palooza parade in the promenade. Here you can join in on the parade with characters like Horton, or Thing 1 and Thing 2. Throughout the sailing there will also be special photo opportunities where you can take home a great memory of your children with their favorite character.
The Carnival Freedom will also have a Dr. Seuss Bookville after it comes out of refurbishment in May.
