For decades, couples have decided to break with tradition and get married on a cruise or in a far away destination. Now, with Royal Caribbean, couples can actually get married while sailing in international waters. The Commonwealth of the Bahamas recently passed a Marriage Act that will allow marriages that occur in international waters to be recognized by the Bahamas.
To celebrate this new feature available on all Royal Caribbean International ships, the line is offering couples all the wonderful features of a wedding at sea for FREE, if they book 12 or more staterooms on a 2013 itinerary that sails for five nights or longer.
This feature, titled Sweethearts at Sea, includes the ceremony performed by the captain, the assistance of an onboard Royal romance coordinator, flowers, photography service, and wedding cake along with champagne and strawberries in the couple’s stateroom. For details on all aspects of the Sweethearts at Sea package, contact a cruise consultant at The Cruise Web today.
In addition to these features, if the couple books 25 or more staterooms they will also enjoy a stateroom upgrade, bar service and an hors d’oeuvres reception.
In addition to planning a wedding onboard, Royal Caribbean also offers packages for couples looking to get married at one of the ports visited on the cruise.
The cruise line also offers packages for special onboard proposals, vow renewals and other celebrations. And of course, cruises will always be a draw for honeymooners, so Royal Caribbean has created registries where couples can ask their loved ones and wedding guests to purchase dinners at specialty restaurants or spa services that they can enjoy while on their vacation.
