Jean-Michel Cousteau, the renown oceanographer, will be sharing his knowledge of the sea and his experiences advocating for oceans on four Paul Gauguin cruises in 2013. During these cruises he will lecture, show films of his works and accompany guests on several dives.
Jean-Michel Cousteau is the son of Jacques Cousteau, who is widely credited with educating a generation about the world under the water. Jacques Cousteau was a french naval officer and helped to create the aqua lung, which was the first version of SCUBA (self-contained underwater breathing apparatus) gear.
Jean-Michel’s first expedition was a dive with his father at the age of 7. Ever since he has dedicated his life to learning about the ocean and sharing his knowledge through documentaries and charitable work, much like his father.
Jean-Michel will be sailing on the following Paul Gauguin cruises:
- 14-night Marquesas, Tuamotus & Society Islands Cruise: February 2, 2013
- 10-night Society Islands & Tuamotus Cruise: June 26, 2013
