The Norwegian Getaway, which will be based in Miami, has just announced she will be taking the culinary culture of this international hotspot and translating that onto the ship in the form of two restaurants and bars.
The Restaurants
- The Tropicana Room – A complimentary restaurant will evoke the feeling of a supper club popular in the region during the 1940s and 1950s. The restaurant will be decorated with mirrored columns, dark woods and nostalgic photos of Miami during this time.
Menu Highlights: ceviche de camaron, churrasco con chimichurri and arroz con pollo - The Flamingo Bar & Grill – Throughout the day you can enjoy Latin inspired dishes from this complimentary casual restaurant. You can also wash down your meal with a Cuban coffee.
Menu Highlights: fried yucca, spinach empanadas, guava turnovers, flan de leche and tres leches
The Bars
- Sugarcane Mojito Bar – Take a load off in the leather and rattan seats of this bar with a delightful mojito or other rum based cocktail in your hand. This spot on the ship will be popular for sure and will feature bronze decorations shaped like banana leaves.
- The Sunset Bar – Get a little adventurous in this bar which was designed with classic American writer (and Key West fan) Ernest Hemingway in mind. The space is filled with animal prints and a marlin mounted behind the bar. Here you can enjoy a daiquiri or a special concoction called Key Largo’s Secret Chest. If you want to complete the Hemingway experience, head next door to the Humidor Cigar Lounge.
Miami and its surroundings will also be featured in the murals and artwork throughout the ship.
The Norwegian Getaway will debut in January and feature lots of new experiences at sea, including an Illusionarium, live performances by GRAMMY winners and nominees and the Broadway production of Legally Blonde.
